Zoinks! It's been awhile...

I apologize for my absence from this wonderful site. Things have been keeping me busy, but I am back! I was browsing the ever so exciting Facebook of Click Boutique. I fell in love with these pants and just had to share them with everyone!
Some one needs to go and by them before I get a chance to look at them! #BrokeCollegeGirl

My best dressed at the Oscars 2013

It was a difficult decision to make, but best dressed at the 2013 Academy awards goes to Amy Adams. I adore this dress. This dress is not only flattering, but also it is stunning. I would definitely say it is eye-catching. The only thing I would even consider changing would possibly be the color. Amy wears every color brilliantly, which is a difficult task for some gingers (ah hmm... Jessica Chastain). Unlike other gingers, most colors look great on Amy, so why go with gray?

Next on my list would have to go to Jennifer Aniston. In the few hours that this dress has been seen, people are calling it plain and boring. I completely disagree. I call this dress gorgeous and sophisticated. It is glamour and chic.
The next dresses are in no particular order. I love each of these. One word for all of 3 dresses... GORGEOUS!
Charlize Theron is incredibly fierce in this white gown. Her hair maybe short but it is so fitting for her structured symmetrical lines. I have been a fan of Charlize since the first time I saw her in The Italian Job with Mark Wahlberg (who looked incredibly hot at the Oscars tonight).

I love that Reese Witherspoon went with color this year. She is very brave going against the trends this year. I saw a lot of silver metallics, whites and sheers. If someone did go with a color, it would have been red. Brava Reese for doing your own thing.

Amanda Seyfried has shown up to the past few awards shows in knock out dresses. Why I ever doubted tonight would have been any different? I love this dress. This dress has a beautiful form on her; it is elegant but fun.

I almost wonder if I choose best dressed based on my favorite actresses because everyone on this page is someone that I admire. I look up to these women, and obviously, I love their work.

Anne Hathaway at the Oscars

I absolutely adored Anne Hathaway at the Oscars. She even had a great sense of humor. Her mom made the comment, "It's business in front and party in the back."
Pastels are always great colors on her. To be honest, I am not sure what color would not look good on Anne. I need her hair to grow back quickly. Ever heard of extensions?

Tunics are fun!

I have seen this dress everywhere! I love this look, and believe it or not, these stripes actually flatter.
So I looked online and found it in a couple locations...

Miss Behavin with clothes!

I am honestly supposed to be paying attention to my a teacher right now - his name and class will not be shared. I could not help but play with Pinterest because his 25-minute discussion about how a scan-tron works is boring me. I am not a freshman even though I am in a freshman class.

Anyway... I remember pinning this picture a few days ago, but I never found anything exactly like it. I really love blue and yellow (well, mustard) right now.

While playing with Facebook, I found this striped sweater with AWESOME elbow patches for $42! I would love to see this sweater with a pair of mustard skinnies. This sweater can be found at Miss Behavin in Oxford, Miss. Click here to go Miss Behavin's Facebook site to see what all they have to offer! I loved shopping at this store when I lived in Oxford.
I wanted to send out a special thanks to Miss Behavin for the photo! You, wonderful readers, will be seeing more from Miss Behavin!

Oxford, Ms - Oh, what fashion you have!

As I began strolling down memory lane and remembering what fun I had in Oxford, Ms at Ole Miss, one thing that came to mind... THE SHOPPING! There are some amazing little shops on the Square. If you are not familiar with Oxford, the Square is the downtown area where some of the best bars, food and entertainment all come together. Above all, the shopping is to die for there. If you are ever in Oxford for a football game, visiting the town or just passing through, go to the Square and check out these fabulous stores...

A very Sally outfit

I have a feeling that the late 80s/early 90s are coming back around. I found myself watching When Harry Met Sally tonight, and I could not help but to notice that I really liked a lot of the outfits Meg Ryan had on in the movie. This one in particular is my favorite... For good reason too.
I have found a similar outfit...
Take this blazer from Click Boutique $53 (Hattiesburg)...

put it over this floral top from Libby Story $? (Jackson/Starkville)...

And pair it with these wide leg pants from Libby Story $48 ...

And voĆla... A similar outfit! Throw in the hat Libby Story $16 ...
Let me know what you think. I hope that you can imagine this outfit; I think it would be really great for a Fall walk through Central Park or if your in Mississippi - a stroll through the Grove on Ole Miss's campus!

Mississippi fashion meets New York style

I am starting this blog with a couple of things in mind. I want to create a place where people from smaller towns and rural areas in Mississippi can find the latest trends that are all the craze on the Runway and in magazines. Not only do I want to provide accessibility to the latest trends, but I also want to tell you where to find similar fashion trends for less.

Just a little information about myself. Well for starters, my name is Mindy Phillips. I am a public relations major at the University of Southern Mississippi, where I am the president of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and a director for our student-run PR firm, The Agency. Elle magazine, here I come!

I have several ideas that could get this blog started. There are a couple of boutiques in the Jackson area that carry great clothes. Libby Story is truly my favorite! (FYI: They have a store in Ridgeland, Flowood and Starkville.) You can go to www.libbystory.com to see what they have to offer. I'll be posting a lot from their site. I also love a little boutique in Hattiesburg called Irie Boutique. You can go to www.irieboutique.com to check them out. There is a little hole-in-the-wall boutique in Tupelo called Yellow Lovebirds; they also have a store in Oxford. Speaking of Oxford - if you want a great "shopping Mecca" in Mississippi, go to Oxford. The Square, downtown Oxford, has tons of unique boutiques.

Throughout this blog, I will be posting pictures of designs that I love, and images of current trends around the globe. If you have any suggestions of new boutiques, please let me know, so I can check them out too. Also, if there is a specific outfit that you love and need suggestions of how to piece it together without spending a fortune - I'm here to help!
